TODAY in the Auditorium, 11:30 a.m. REQUIRED Health 
Education Seminars for Sophomores in homerooms with 
J. Neilly, Jensen, Aldrich, Evans, Carrell and 
FRESHMAN your class apparel is ready to order. Pick 
up an order form from any freshman student council 
member or from any of the freshman class advisors. 
Mrs. Bowers room 104, Mrs. Ennis room 303, and Mrs. 
Merrit room 212. 

INTERESTED in ordering a fan shirt for the girls’ 
basketball team, please stop in Coach Vis’ room 
(105) and pick up an order form.

GIRL’S basketball open gym will take place tonight 
(Thursday) from 7:30-8:30 in the main gym. 

The Kennedy Dance Team will be competing at Prairie 
High School’s Stack the Stands competition this 
Sat. Oct. 25.  Soloists McKenna Schares, Carolyn 
Simon, Natalie Martin, Stormy Waldrep, Brooke 
Bekeris, Julia Brewer, and Macy Schares will 
compete in the morning and early afternoon.  The 
dance team’s jazz can be seen at 4:00pm while the 
pom will be at 6:15pm.  Come out and support your 
Kennedy Dance Team!
SENIORS, if you are interested in attending the 
University of Notre Dame or Washington University 
in St. Louis, please see Mrs. Richey in 120A by 
Wednesday, October 29. Kennedy can nominate 
students to potentially receive a full ride 
scholarship to these two schools. We are looking 
for highly qualified well-rounded students. 
INTERNSHIP opportunities are available now.  Invest 
in your future today by exploring career options 
through the Workplace Learning Connection student 
internship program.   Review your schedule 
availability with your guidance counselor then 
click on the WLC link on the Kennedy web site and 
watch the video and fill out an application.  
Applications can be turned in now but are due by 
November 7 to Mr. Goodlove.  Interviews will start 
the first week of December.  
STUDENTS: are you interested in impacting how 
schools function in Iowa?  Are you thinking about 
becoming an educator?  Then you should consider 
attending the Iowa Student Learning Institute on 
November 8th at Waukee High School.  Kennedy will 
take up to 6 students who are interested in 
attending this conference.  Students will engage in 
problem solving with regards to public education in 
Iowa.  A great opportunity to grow and be heard!

ALL STUDENTS that currently have a PE waiver for 
first term MUST turn in a signed waiver form to the 
Counseling Office ASAP. If the form is not turned 
in by the first day of finals, students will 
receive a U on their transcript for PE this term. 
There will be no retroactive grades given if the 
form is turned in late. Lists are posted on the 
windows near the Counseling Office, Activities 
Office and Attendance Office. If your name is on 
the list, you need to pick up a form from the 
Counseling Office and return it ASAP. Questions, 
please see your Counselor.
HOMELESS NIGHT will be held on Friday, November 7th 
at Kennedy. If you wish to participate you must 
make a minimum $15 donation. All money donated will 
be given to local shelters. The event will run from 
9pm on November 7th to 6am Nov. 8th.  You must be 
present by 10:00pm to participate. To register 
please get a form from Mr. Benedict in room 164. 
Registrations are due by 1:00 on November 7th. 
SENIORS! Don’t forget! This week is College 
Application Week! All seniors are encouraged to 
join the counselors in Computer Lab 220 during 
SMART Lunch to learn more about the college 
application process and work on college 
applications. If you don’t already know of where 
you’d like to apply, start thinking! If you’ve 
already applied to college – this will be a great 
opportunity to learn more about the next steps in 
the process. Be sure to see your counselor if you 
have more questions.
There is a SENIOR MEETING at the START of SMART 
LUNCH on Thursday, November 6th. This is the 
GRADUATION meeting and is mandatory and VERY 
important.  All seniors must attend.
