Kennedy Ambassadors

      Judy McIntosh The Kennedy Ambassadors Club is a group of students known for their leadership abilities and involvement in Kennedy high school. Our main goal is to make everyone, especially new students, feel welcome here and to motivate all students to get involved.
Kennedy Gay Straight Alliance (KGSA)

Tuesdays (as of 12/19/2012) 2:50-3:45 116 or 107 Dana Melone and Jenny Neilly KGSA or Kennedy Gay Straight Alliance is a group dedicated to supporting gay, lesbian, and bisexual members of the Kennedy Community by providing them with a safe, affirming environment.
Kennedy SPCA

We promote pet adoption from animal shelters, specifically CR Animal Care and Control. We also are interested in learning more about careers involving animals, and in providing fun opportunities to share how companion animals make our lives better. Our club runs from the beginning of September to the end of March.
Kennedy Speech Team

various times   108 Melissa Osborn The competitive speech team has two seasons, one for large group events and another for individual events. Auditions for large group speech take place in November and rehearsals start the first day of the second trimester where kids have the opportunity to be in one-act play, choral reading, reader’s theatre, group and solo mime, group improvatational acting, ensemble acting, musical theatre, radio news broadcasting, and TV News Broadcasting. The individual speech season happens right after large group speech and students have the chance to audition to be in several individual categories. The competitive speech season competes at the district, state, and all-state level.

Thespian Club

TBA     Steve Tolly In order to establish thespian status, one must accumulate thespian points in the theatre and speech. In order to do so, thespians must be active on-stage, off- stage, and competitive speech. Thespian or non- thespian, everyone is invited to attend the Iowa Thespian Festival held annually where many things happen, such as individual events, theatre/speech workshops, scholarship opportunities, studio theatre one- acts, and main stage production.
Ultimate Frisbee Club

TBA TBA Main Gym   We play ultimate frisbee! Pick up games during fall and winter, and then we make a team, have practices and play other schools.
Video Game Club

Tuesday 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm 106 Sean Neilly The Video Game Club meets once a week for 1 hour to play an assortment of video games on multiple platforms. Meetings generally include 10-20 students.
Yoga

Tuesday 3:00 - 4:00 64E Brenda Hack Leaders: Jenna Hentrich Join us for a fun practice of yoga to increase strength, flexiblilty, and balance. Also, to improve clarity and reduce stress.
